The 1oz Britannia Coin, initially minted in 1987, maintains its legal tender status with a nominal value of £2 and enjoys exemption from Capital Gains Tax. In 2013, the Silver Britannia underwent a significant change, becoming the first to be crafted with 999.0 fine silver, boasting a fine silver weight of 31.1g or 1.000t oz.
The coin's reverse side proudly showcases Britannia herself, a design that has graced coinage since 1672, while the obverse featured a likeness of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II until the early 2023 mintage. Starting in 2017, The Royal Mint introduced a design update, adding a radiant sunburst background behind Britannia on the reverse side, and in 2021, another update brought new security features, infusing a modern touch into these coins. The later iterations on the obverse side feature Jody Clark's portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
These pre-owned products may have some minor scratches, blemishes or some tarnishing on the products but this will not affect the value of the item when selling back to us. Your products will be securely sealed with a secondary internal packet, then again within a further plastic sleeve.
If you choose storage:
These items are stored in high tech and secure vaults that reside in the UK and are fully insured at all times. Should you wish to have these items delivered to you from storage at any point in the future, simply give our storage team a call and they will make arrangements for you.
Please note that delivery of items from storage will incur vault administration, post and packaging fees. The storage team will do their best to keep these costs as low as they can by negotiating the best deal they can with the vaulting providers.
