The 2026 mintage gold Sovereign marks a return to tradition and the use of yellow gold by The Royal Mint.
The 'Chief Coin of The World' retains its traditional reverse design of St George and The Dragon by Benedetto Pistrucci together with additional micro-text which reads HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE, the motto of the Order of the Garter.
The obverse bears the official coinage portrait of His Majesty King Charles III with a new half-tone background and a latent security image which alternates between the Tudor Crown and the Tudor Rose.
These features combine to produce the most secure Sovereign ever minted.
Struck to bullion standard from 22 carat (916.7) gold by The Royal Mint in Llantrisant, South Wales, the gold content of the Sovereign is assured by Royal Proclamation.
These coins are British legal tender and therefore free from Capital Gains Tax as well as being VAT Free.
What Will I Receive?
Your 2026 Gold Full Sovereign Coin | The Royal Mint will be dispatched, fully insured in a sealed, fully secure, nondescript package, there are no identifiable markings to suggest the contents.
Your products will be securely sealed with a secondary internal packet, then again within a further plastic sleeve.
